Simon Tomell... Village BlacksmithWith a mechanical engineer father and a two-dimensional artist mother, Simon combines those two talents through his blacksmithing.
Simon has taken classes at Tillers International in Scotts, MI... a school that teaches historical rural skills such as blacksmithing... and built upon those first-hand experiences with books of information on the subject.
Some of Simon's techniques are based on historical ironwork, but he also has his own interpretations woven into his creations.
Visitor's to Sauder Village can buy one of Simon's candle holders, iron hooks or a 'kids' favorite'... rebar candy canes among other unique items.
