Eicher Cabin
Jacob Eicher built this log home in the mid-1850s for his family in Northwest Ohio. Of particular interest is the vertical, tongue and groove paneling covering the interior logs. This is the
third oldest of our homesteads and the activities and gardens reflect life of the 1850s. The swamp had been drained and life was becoming easier. The cook stove and other furnishings reflect the conveniences of the time.
Since Jacob and his wife Barbara were older when they arrived here, this home
reflects their life as grandparents with grown children. Learn more about Jacob
